Recreational Water Quality Monitoring

Council is currently developing a "real time" recreational water quality monitoring program and plans to have this up and running soon.  Watch this space.

In previous years, Council has undertaken water quality monitoring at two recreational sites (Brooklyn Baths and Crosslands Reserve) during the months of December, January, February and March.

Samples were taken at weekly intervals and results compared to the National Health and Medical Research Council Guidelines (NHMRC, 2006) in order to determine acceptable recreational use and levels of risk.
