Since 1994, the rate has been used for a wide variety of capital and non-capital works.

Capital Works:

  • Constructed wetlands and sediment basins
  • Creek remediation
  • Installation of Gross Pollutant Devices
  • Stormwater reuse facilities
  • Stormwater remediation from landfill sites

Non-capital Works:

  • Education
  • Street sweeping
  • Compliance
  • Spill response
  • Maintenance of capital works and facilities
  • Water Quality Monitoring

The Catchments Remediation program manages more than 400 stormwater quality improvement devices across the Shire, removing over 1100 cubic metres of polluting material from local waterways during 2009/10. For more information and case studies see:
